We love homemade bread but sometimes trying to make your own can be a frustrating process. An easy recipe with consistent results s a total game changer.
Cooking bread in an uncovered dutch oven cooks the bread evenly, keeps the bread moist, and gives it a great texture. The dill and cheddar add a depth of flavor without being overpowering. This bread is delicious, consistent and easy to make!
Heat water to between 105 – 115 degrees.Stir in sugar until dissolved. Sprinkle the yeast over top and allow to stand 5-10 minutes, until frothy.
In the bowl of a stand mixer, combine 3 cups of the flour with the salt.Slowly pour in the yeast mixture and mix on low speed until thoroughly combined. Dough will be sticky.
Add 1 cup shredded cheddar and the dried dill to the dough.
Slowly add remaining flour while mixing on low speed. Mix until the dough leaves the edges of the bowl.
With lightly floured hands, remove the dough from the bowl and shape into a ball. Place the dough back into the bowl and cover with plastic wrap.
Allow to rise in a warm place for an hour or until doubled in size.
Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F and generously spray a dutch oven with cooking spray or line with parchment paper.
