I thought I had tried every eye product on the market to tackle my puffiness and dark circles, until Drew Barrymore posted a photo on Instagram that proved otherwise. "Monday #beautyjunkie moment before work," she captioned it. In it, She wears a sheet mask from her own brand, Flower Beauty, and holds up her favorite Sisley Paris Lip Balm. Underneath the sheet mask, she wears a set of eye patches—the celebrity-approved Talika Eye Therapy Patches. I couldn't help but notice that they were the very same eye patches that sat unopened in my bathroom cabinet, waiting to be tested. And what does any good beauty writer do when a celebrity beauty expert like Drew Barrymore recommends a product to her 11.9 million followers? That beauty writer tests it, immediately. Keep reading to find out what I thought of these unique, Drew Barrymore-approved eye patches.

About My Skin: Dark circles and puffy eyes
I've waged a long and hard war against my dark circles. They appeared sometime around freshman year of high school—or, rather, that's when I first took notice of them—and despite my best efforts, they've never left. Seeing as dark circles are at least partially genetic, I resigned myself to living a life full of hydrating eye masks, micro-needling, and concealer (this trinity managed my dark circles well enough for me). Then, at 24 years-old, the under-eye bags set in. Now, dealing with dark circles is one thing, but dealing with dark circles and under-eye bags is something entirely different.
All of a sudden, the eye masks I was using before didn't cut it. I needed products that would offer more than simple hydration. Since then, I've found a few that work for me—namely the 111SKIN Celestial Black Diamond Eye Masks, the Wander Beauty Baggage Claim Gold Eye Mask, and the Wrinkles Shminkles Eye Smoothing Kit.
Application: Easy as pie
Talika's eye patches come with a chic silver carrying case, so you can store the eye patches in-between uses (each eye patch can be used up to three separate times). Simply peel each patch away from its backing and apply to the under-eye area. Wait 30 minutes for the patches to work their magic, remove them, and store them in the carrying case until you're ready to apply them again. It's as simple as that.
If you want a spa like experience (and honestly, who doesn't) you can toss them in the fridge and/or freezer before you use them. The cooling sensation feels really good on the skin, especially after a hot bath or a sweaty workout.
The ingredients: Ceramides, good. Mineral oil, maybe bad
After seeing a real improvement in my under-eye area, I did some digging into the eye patches and their ingredients. As it turns out, each eye patch is formulated with ceramides (which rebuild and restore the skin's protective barrier to boost moisture, block environmental pollutants, and signs of aging), shea butter, and a mix of oils including wheat germ, avocado, and safflower oils. Clean beauty enthusiasts should know that there is also mineral oil present. It's worth mentioning since there's quite the controversy surrounding mineral oil and its uses in beauty and personal care products.
The Feel: Incredibly comfortable
When I applied the eye patches, I was surprised to find that they didn't have the slippery (almost slimy) texture of others on the market. Instead, they felt bouncy and almost completely dry, sticking to my under-eye area easily and following its natural contour. I even wore them while answering emails and didn't have to deal with my eyes getting irritated at the slightest. After my 30-minute timer went off, I realized that I was almost completely unaware of them the entire time. They didn't slip or drain liquid down my face; I didn't have to keep readjusting them or patting in excess serum. They were definitely the least fussy eye masks I've ever worn.
The Results: I'm shook
When I took them off, they peeled away from my skin easily, leaving no residue behind. I was surprised (read: thrilled) to see that the two creases under each eye, which fill with fluid as I sleep and leave me with pronounced eye bags come morning, were almost completely undetectable. My under-eye bags were actually deflated. Not only that, but my dark circles had eased from a distinct blue color to something lighter and softer. I looked wide-awake, which was crazy, considering it was well before noon, I wasn't wearing a bit of concealer, and I hadn't even had my first sip of coffee.

I, for one, was thoroughly impressed with the smoothing, softening, and dark circle-improving effects of these patches, which is why I'll be using them from here on out.
The Value: A steal
The Talika Eye Therapy Patches are priced at $58 for three sets of (or six individual) reusable patches. You can use each pair of patches at least three times. If you do the math, that means each pair costs about $6 per use, which is a steal considering the results, IMO. They are a great option to have on deck when you need to look bright-and-bushy-eyed before a big event or your super important Zoom presentation.

Our Verdict: We love them
With noticeable, skin-smoothing results after just one use, there's no choice but to give the Talika Eye Therapy Patches two thumbs up. Even though they contain mineral oil, a potentially harmful ingredient, I was impressed with how quickly they improved the appearance of my under-eye area after just one use. Drew Barrymore was definitely on to something when she posted them.
